So we moved into a bigger shop and have a bigger area for reclaim. We use to use this booth.

But it's a bit small for our 23X33 m3 frames. It's going to be relegated to development / clean water washout now.
So we bought this booth

But had some bad luck with it. The one we got wouldn't fully drain, the main pan wasn't bent down enough to get all the water out. Also it seemed a bit to tall (the sink portion) and not deep enough.
My concern is comfort for the person reclaiming racks and racks of screens per day. If they could hold the pressure washer wand more towards their waist it would put less stress on their arms and shoulders.
The bigger problem with the CCI booth was the depth. It's listed as 24 inches deep, but since it's stainless, it has a lip on it making it actually like 22.5 deep. This means you need to lift the frame out of the sink to rotate it 180 degrees to wash the other side of the screen.
Again this is wear and tear on the employee and also manages to get water all over the floor that could be avoided.
So my question for all of you with bigger shops. What washout booth are you using?
We're looking at Rino Tech. Pretty spendy, but I'm assuming we're only gonna need to buy this once.

awesome booth overall, but has leaked a few times (welds not as strong as they could be)
we have two autotype booths also

one is strictly reclaim, the other is strictly degreasing. they are well built, but way too shallow for reclaim. extremely heavy, welds are solid.
i want a booth that is solid like the autotype, but sized deeper and wider like the CCI.
when i started here (1996) we had polypropylene booths - you could stack 20 (if you wanted) 23x31 mzx in one of the booths. sadly they broke beyond repair - possibly from having 20 frames in them :)

I remember hauling those Autotype booths up that freight elevator Duane! McDermot gave us a sweet deal on those. But you're right on how they missed out on the dimensions. Best built sinks I believe you'll ever find. I think they were made in Denmark.

I'm not a big auto shop - but I made mine. Nothing on the market fit my needs so I made a 12' sink with a 4' x 12' back light. It's around 30" deep, and the base is about 40" off the floor so the images are in your face. made it out of wood, then covered that mother in sprayable truck bed liner, autozone has it. 100.00/gallon. Works awesome. just an option.

crated weight was about 1000 lbs each.
we got a great deal and they will last forever, but forever is too long when they arent sized correctly.

I got a nice washout in the back of my shop, great during the summer, but hell during winter

If you're handy modifying stuff, or get lucky, one of the better ideas I've heard is to check out the used restaurant equipment suppliers--a lot of cheap decent quality stainless in those places.

We have the same CCI booth, it's our "clean" booth for degreasing and resolving. Dirty booth is a modified 36x36 shower stall.
I agree, it's nice to be able to flip the screen around with one hand and the shower stall we have is perfect for that. The Rhino actually looks really nice and I don't think that's too crazy expensive for a booth like that. In an ideal world I would replace our shower stall with something like one of those 70" wide rhinos so we could de ink two screens at a time.

Blackline. Ask Kelly to give you a quote. We have the Big 8 foot wide one. Love it. You can always swing by and check ours out.

we have the same CCI booth and yes, the left side doesnt fully drain either. I had never really had a problem with turning the screen because I usually just reach the hose around to the other side and my hand to the other side (pull back and step to the side)....im small so i can do that...normal sized people seem to not be able to and it leads to banging around...other than that, no leaks, and its been great...wish it came with 2 of those screen holder inserts and i still havent peeled the plastic off the back so its a little gunky looking but the light still shines bright.... we only reclaim about 50-100 screens a week though (once a week)

here are my opinion on Washout Booths.
Best Built: Easiway W-60, 48 x60 x36
it is a poly booth the thickest 1/2 inch, and sturdiest ever seen , deep, drains very well , great Backlights can hold 2 auto screens
its Top end , and priced as one, but the people that have them , do not regret it.
one of the best built in the industry
The Rhino series , economy and heavy duty, poly ( some sizes have metal stands)
Good booths , not as thick as the Easiway, back light drains good.
priced not bad
washout booths are an item you get what you pay for
I am not a huge fan of metal wash out booths , they work though, all booths work though, lets face it its not rocket science
but with metal , they are loud when because of pressure washers (like cleaning metal trash cans as a kid with the spray hose) and the sodium periodate in re-claimers brake down the metal over time , even galvanized , all it takes is one scratch and a rust spot starts to wear it out
Just my opinion , I sell them all but this is my opinion =)

I made my own. I used the same Polypro they make them out of and a plastic welder from harbor freight. Total investment was around $200 and its the design of one that sells for over $1600. They want a fortune for those things and hey are not that hard to make. The plastic just like wood (with normal wood blades) and the plastic welding only took me about 20 mins to get good at. It took maybe 10 hours after having all the parts. I guess I could have just printed shirts for 10 hours and made enough to buy one. With building custom you can make them the size you want. I have plans to build a second one this summer so i have one larger one for reclaim and then the old one in the dark room for washout. That way I can keep the washout one clean for washout and decrease.

CCI builds washout booths in both stainless steel and 1/2" polypropylene. The standard depth is 24" but they can custom build to any depth or dimensions you want. If you had a stainless steel booth that leaked due to a bad weld I am sure CCI would take care of that if you contacted them. Drains can be located left, right and center which is your choice to accommodate your best draining options. You can also order addition frame holders as well.
They stand behind all of their equipment and will work with you. Prices are very competitive as well.
