Title: Aluminum squeegees
Post by: sweetts on April 30, 2013, 03:05:40 PM
What's a good source for economically priced aluminum squeegee handles?

I like those Ergoforce manual holders best out of the bunch.

There's nothing wrong with wood, feels better in the hand in my opinion, but you must get the wooden ones from a reputable supplier, i.e., avoid purchasing woodies from ryonet or the like or you'll have a squiggly blade that's useless for tight tolerance work.

Also long ago many suppliers switched to cheap pine which can literally snap in two when printing........messy!!!!!! But I still prefer wood as well. We have tons of old hardwoods around. Though we don't print manually much.

Alabama Screen Process has some really good wood handles nice and thick, feels good in the hands.

These are nice. I have 4 that are my go to. They are big but the added height keeps the ink off your hands. You can find them on ebay also for a little cheaper.

The ones I regret not getting a BUNCH of are the ones they used to carry at One Stroke. I only bought a few, and little over a year ago apparently their supplier just stopped making them... Anyway the profile on them is just awesome. Anyone recognize the pic? And where you can still find them? I bet I have looked at 4 different shows, and nothing!

I know,  we have a few of the ones you posted. But something about the contour of the old ones we got from One Stroke makes manual printing just about as enjoyable as it can be.

-disclaimer- I actually like manual printing,  but who wants to do it all day!?

GM Rhino Graphics or something like that. From Minnesota I think. I got some on ISS show.
Also, there is a couple on eBay from Pittsburgh that sells them at the good price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-INCH-ALUMINUM-SQUEEGEE-HANDLE-WITH-70-DURO-BLADE-NEW-/330916059414?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d0c225916 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-INCH-ALUMINUM-SQUEEGEE-HANDLE-WITH-70-DURO-BLADE-NEW-/330916059414?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d0c225916)
Contact them and they will give you a break if you need more.
