Title: spot cleaning gun fluid
Post by: shellyky on May 01, 2013, 11:52:10 AM
we currently have ICC/CCI (i cant remember, i hate that the company names are too similar.) but i fill up my gun once and by the time i get around to needing it (maybe every 3 months), it has evaporated.  even from the sealed jug.  i feel like i use 1 pint of 1 gallon....what should i be buying?

we use SPIF 2

in the summer, the heat (i think) makes the chemical expand or "something" - i have to open the valve every other day to release the gas pressure.

possibly your sealed jug could be stored in a cool dark place to prevent it gassing.

My wife puts me in a cool dark place to prevent gassing but it never works.   ;)

yes we keep it inside the climate controlled part of the shop, under a table...and it still inflates like it's going to blow up then there isnt anything left pretty soon :/

I just have my guy not put much in the gun... maybe a couple of inches.  Doesn't mean we don't evaporate the same amount, maybe it just feels better. LOL

oh heck, we are lucky if we get a couple inches in the gun between the spillage and drinking it.  It's tastes like a mix of gasoline and vodka.

Actually, it does evaporate, I prefer the stuff sonny sells so I can get it in sealed gallon jugs.  I never release the pressure, I have never had a problem with one popping a cap off or anything like that, even in the heat of the summer.

SPIFF II, the rest seems pretty nasty to me. Never noticed a major evap issue here but maybe we just need to use it more, I dunno!
