Title: Epson Printer Question
Post by: 3Deep on May 09, 2013, 01:22:55 PM
I know many of you still use the epson 3000 to print seps, and here is my problem lately my printer has been pulling the sheets in kind of sideways crimping up the film, looks like it pulls on the right side faster, anybody else getting this with there printer.  I tried to clean the grabbers or whatever they are called, but still getting the same thing, any help or advice would be appreciated.

Same thing with mine. Now I just manually feed from the rear. No more problems.  8)

In addition to cleaning the rollers with a Q-tip and alcohol, I've heard of people slightly abrading the roller surfaces with sandpaper/emery board.  Sometimes the rollers get too smooth to properly grip the sheet.

yeah, I usually take a piece of 1500 grit sandpaper and do the manual feed, but don't let it feed the paper, hold it so it won't go in and it will take the slickness off the rollers

Thanks, I'll try both suggestions the sandpaper or sticking the film in the back slot..

I had the local printer tech service mine, it was mis-feeding 80% of the time and driving my batty , now it's 100% awesome again. I love that old 3000! The rollers just don't like the waterproof coating on film I guess.
