Two wands back to back went wonky and I'm thinking I have debris coming in my water lines.
I bought a "nice" one from the hardware store a while back and it leaked immediately.
What are you guys using... I'm looking to just get a good one and be done with this.

Nothing! Need to do this though, why not right? I'd just by an inline cart filter from any tool supply and hook it on up with shutoffs at either end of course.

Get a whole house filter. They are rather cheap at HD. They have replacement filters the one I am thinking of uses the same filters as RO units. I am adding one to my system this month old rusty pipes in this shop.

We use a whole house filter also. But we use recycled water to wash out our screens so you really need one for that.
When we were just hooked up to the city water, we never had one. Most power washers have a basic plastic one where the incoming hose hooks up. Are you sure it is coming from the water side? If we ever had problems it was from someone using the wand incorrectly and something got stuck in the end of the wand like a rock, tape, ink ect.

Good point TCT... I'll have a talk with my guy... he's very honest and it is possible that he has been careless. He's also very young.
It's an adjustable nozzle and I just don't think they are worth a flip.
AR650 from PWD, so it's not a rinky dink setup either.

I use a sediment filter for I coming water then a charcoal filter for drinking water after that (shops at the house) its amazing the crap that gets pulled out of city water. I was getting lots of pin holes in my screens I put the filter on and bamb no more holes

This is the one I am putting on my system this month. I don't have that many pin holes but if it can help then why not.

Lot of bad reviews on that one. Leaked from day 1 is a common theme for those that had problems.

I have one that I took off a rental property I own. It is not that exact one. I just wanted to add a visual for people that may not know what a whole house filter is. The thing about these filters is it does not restrict the flow of water as much as the smaller inline filters. That is why they are the ones to use.

1. The inlet filter/screen that comes with the pwr washer should be more then sufficient to protect the machine. If the water was that bad that screen would clog first restricting the flow.
2. The internals of the pump are much more sensitive to forign mater or crud then the plunger/o-ring assm on the wand or the nozzle.
Almost sound like abuse.
Knock on wood but we have been using one of those Green Machines from Lowes for almost two years now and have had no trouble with the washer or wand.

It is the adjusting part of the nozzle. It well, stops adjusting. It's basically some metal blades that open and close. I went look at they are basically flush with the tip (if they don't actually stick out a bit). I told him that you guys mentioned it might be him bumping it up against stuff (as well as myself, I included) and he nodded and agreed to watch out for that.
I told him if keeps happening after the filter, which we will wait till the new shop to install, we will just get a fixed nozzle and be done with it.
