So I was bragging a few months ago at the other place how it's been 3+ years (entire printing career) with no misprints (as in typos, wrong location, wrong art, etc.).
Well, I finally had 100 of 'em.
"Spirit & Praise" was printed as "Sprit & Praise". Customer approved the typo proof but what are you gonna do?
I reprinted them for free and still made a profit but GRRRR...!
I hate tyypos.

I've been printing 4 and not one mistake like that. wait does printing on the wrong color shirt because the customers computer monitor wasnt true on the color? if so then i'm a loser too.....lol
-
Funny...... My only mistake was the word Spirit also! It was a quote of scripture.... Not so cool on 100 tanks.
-
we've had a few..like Angel Flight..ride of the angles. Yeah, not so much.

;D
Customers are generally too busy too bother looking at any final proofs.
I know, it's really difficult and time consuming..
???
And when something's fubar, it still your fault, just cause.... well, just cause it is ::)
I do lots of work for people who can't even be bothered to count what they send to me.
( no sh*t, it's f*ckin' sad )
Stay frosty, cause stuff happens.
You always gotta be on the ball.
I like to remind myself that I do good work, in spite ( not all, but a fair number ) of my customer's best efforts.
haha.

That has happened to me but with ink mixing but no PMS color was given so... what the hell am I supposed to do? I bought another monitor to hook up to my laptop that seems to give a more accurate color.

This is going to start veering, but how do you you usually get your art? Can't you verify colors in your graphics program?
Otherwise, you need to specify your requirements on colors whether they be your stock colors, or Pantone matches.

800 red shirts for a Coca Cola sponsored race with "Forth Annual". I discovered it on a test shirt 3 months after the race, never heard a word about it. That's the kind of mistake that leaves a mark... Misspellings go right through everyone, the artist, customer who approves it, the screen maker, the printer, and the catcher. Everyone is supposed to proofread, right?

I just did a job for a customer. I miss spelled the City name by adding an extra A in it. They didn't catch it on the first proof but caught it on the printed tees. Funny thing is, as bad as I spell, it almost never happens. I couldn't tell you why because if you'd ask me what my chances are of miss spelling something, I'd say very good. I think it happened from being my own fault about twice in my career. Now Comma's. I leave those boogers out every time but someone catches it for me. :) Some states use them. :)
The worse mistake I ever did cause was leaving out a color on a Military logo. (a gold bar) Oh, sure, it was only a logo patch the size of about a half inch and missing a gold bar that was the thickness of a pencil line...with a full blown out race car design all around it....but my missing that little gold bar in the separation process caused my customer to have to print 5000 shirts all over again. They wouldn't take a discount and wanted them re done. They did sent all 5000 back to the printer. 5000 rags that is. He gave them to charity I guess. He's still my customer. :0 I must do something right.

But you make up for the missing commas with superfluous apostrophes! lol!

superfluous you say? Oh, don't be so obtuse. Say what you wanna say. :). And besides, if you don't know where they go and when, my motto is to pepper spray you and dazzle you with the glorious use of my over abundance. My wealth of apostrophe's. One of my words will be correct if not two. ;)

Did one just last week. Spelled Oahu OHAU. The new guy at the end of the dryer caught it at the beginning of a good sized order. Only lost a dozen or so shirts. I guess he WAS listening when I said he has to keep his eyes on each shirt :)
Same client a year ago I ate 300 or so long sleeve forest green shirts on a misspelled word.... they never saw it or even heard about it. The shirts are still here as a reminder...... :o
