What ya think, haul some hay in this sucker? Decided since selling my other custom truck I wanted to do a brand new truck. So I bought this truck and had it shipped to a custom shop and had them build a new suspension for it and set it up for some big billet wheels. All hand made suspension parts including rear link bars, front upper and lower control arms, and other goodies. Truck had 27 miles on it when they cut the factory suspension off it and I have yet to see the truck in person. I bought it over email from the dealer. Most of you wont like it, but I thought id share.
-
what I don't like is you inappropriate use of an apostrophe.
I don't like the truck that much, but those suspension parts are downright sexy,
-
It looks cool but I don't dig that thing sticking out the front end so much.
-
Well Brandt it's a nice looking truck...nice to look at, don't think it would be fun to drive everyday more like a show truck....my vette is fun to drive but not every day it's low and that truck got me beat by a mile LOL...enjoy my friend
Darryl

I'm not a huge fan of trucks, but I'm a huge fan of custom metal work (i.e. the suspension). Very cool.
Is that all stainless?

Its adjustable suspension, it was built to be used as my daily driver. It's got the "Hemi" lol.

Not not stainless, just steel, was all powder coated before assembly.

Nice! Friend and I ride WR250's and take multiple trips to Hatfield McCoy trails in WV. It's a blast!
Don't have pics of my latest project but it's a '66 mustang coupe that'll have a single turbo 5.0 in it hopefully this summer!
-
nice looking truck. You have to appreciate the detail and engineering even if it's not my style.
Sam, that a thumper?

Nice. How adjustable is the suspension? Is it just me or does that photo look faked??? :P :P :P
-
it is a 426...right before they went to the 450's...the thing is a beast...we made it street legal so I could ride to trails vs trailer it...
-
I normally like my suspension mods to raise the height of my vehicle but I can appreciate all that goes into that truck. I knew adding all the goodies to my ride would be expensive but damn, it still seems like when I think I have bought everything I want for it, something else pops up. Now I'm debating on whether to add new upper control arms to the suspension or leave it stock for now. I've got the lift, tires, and the bumper is on order, and the snorkel is also waiting to be installed. I'm currently buying mods for my cruiser and in about 5-6 months it will look a lot like this.

I've got a dirtbike in the garage but it ain't near as purdy as Sam's so I'll refrain from posting a pick of it till it's back to it's former glory. Haven't ridden since the last accident.
-
Why is it sitting on the side of the interstate? Already broke? j/k
-
That truck is mean.... Slammed to the ground is where it's at..... I used to race NHRA pro stock but once my business started to take off plus having 2 kids left no time for anything fun for me.... Now I work 16+ hr days almost daily so no time for anything cool..... I will say though I just finalized the deal on my newest toy for the shop today.... A brand new challenger 3! That's enough of a toy for me, lol!

It's factory, we did nothing to the bumper.

Did you ever see the Malcolm In The Middle where Lois and Hal stop having sex? The house gets all fixed up and beautiful and everything is perfect, but after they start fooling around again they do a time lapse to show the house falling apart again...priceless.

Just put this back in the water Sunday.

That truck looks badass. Careful on speed bumps, though.
My toys... boats and bikes, are all human powered. Cheap, slow and quiet. Lol
-
Geeze....not only has this truck been blowing up my FB and Instagram feed I gotta come on here and see it too!!
J/K nice to see it finally come together! I have lots of "toys" mostly a bunch of uncompleted projects....

Nice. How adjustable is the suspension? Is it just me or does that photo look faked??? :P :P :P
9-10 inches of lift.
so you can go from bottomed out to 10 inched higher? Does the wheels stay flat with the road or does it look like those guys that just cut the springs? I would love to see a video of the truck going from zero to 10 inches. I'm not really into the lowrider thing but the suspension thing is cool.
-
Gotta pay to play! love the boat

Ill have it back next week, ill do you a video. Or you can just youtube air suspension. Lots of videos. It's just a air bladder that you can simply pump air into (on board tanks/compressors as high as 200psi) or you can let it out. You can determine how high you are off the ground at any second.

The SUV I had a year ago had an airbag lift/suspension but it wasn't anything as high tech as the one on Brandt's. It had about 5.5" of travel and would lower itself 2" when you needed and would raise about 3" from stock height when off roading. I've got a 3" lift kit sitting in my garage and I'm debating on whether or not I should install it myself or pay someone else to do it. It sure doesn't look hard, just replacing the front coilovers and adding new, taller springs to the rear. Anyone here done a suspension lift on their own?

Ya, because ive nevered live in Louisiana with one of these trucks where roads went from paved to gravel to dirt and back at times. :)
It's one of those things you can sit around and assume if you like, but you'd just be wrong. LOL

Well Brandt if your pump or bags ever break you can always do this.

That video is awesome, but if were were to lose all air, we couldn't move the truck, as it sits flat on the ground (frame laying on the ground) when there is no air in the suspension.
We should be OK though, we have 2 separate systems for air on the truck. It has a Engine driven compressor, which is much like a AC compressor for your car. Then we have a electric one as well for a back up. Plus if all else failed we could just find a air pump and there is a fitting to fill up the on board tanks.
-
That was just plain stupid ;D, if I had to get out and do that I would just walk, and forget about oversize people riding that car LOL......Brandt you have an answer for everything 8)

Thanks! Ya it does GREAT off road, not so well on road. But I welded both the front and rear diffs so it's locked front and rear. It's got 6.5:1 transfer case gears, 5:12 diff gears, custom 4 link rear, sitting on 33's and lots of other little goodies all built on a super tight budget by me in my driveway.....no baller status here. ;0)
Complete build thread can be found here, if you wanna check it out.

I thought that looked familiar. Zukicrawlers is awesome. Sold my Zuk last year. Just not using it enough. That thing has been up every trial at the Hammers. Now I miss it damn it. Same specs as you except I had lockers front and rear. Other than mine having more dents they are damn close.

Thanks! I love ZK without it I'm not sure how I would have built this rig. This Zuk has yet to let me down, it goes EVERYWHERE I point it, sometimes I seriously question a line and then give it a try and it walks right up it! It has been down more than it has been on the trails the past three years and I have considered selling it a few times but I just can't bring myself to do it, I just have too much personal time invested into it and when it is on the trail I love it so it's hard to think about letting it go so that's why I keep it. And I like my sheet metal so I try to keep it straight. :P

My parents have taken my old 93' Land Cruiser and having a Tundra engine and tranny put into it, front and rear ARB lockers, 3" lift, ARB sliders, front bumper, rear bumper, among a few other things. I can't wait to see it and drive it. I've got a rear locker on the FJ and the 3" lift sitting in my garage, a snorkel, 255/85/16 mud terrain tires and an ARB front bumper on order. It won't be a rock crawler per se but it will certainly be a very capable FJ. The 93' land cruiser when it's done will be unstoppable. When I had it, only a center diff lock, it never let me down. I took that thing through more places than my Z71 and F150 friends could go. The only vehicle that could keep up was a jeep sahara an ex girlfriend of mine owned. Honestly the Jeep would go a few more places than the Land Cruiser but it wasn't near as comfortable getting to the trail or on it.

Had a buddy of mine buy a nice Honda Gold wing for get this $100 bucks, he was doing some work for a lady and saw it in her barn and ask if she would sell it. He said the reason he got it so cheap was it was her ex husband and he used to go biking with his mistress on it before she found out, so she took it in the divorce with a few other things he liked, been sitting there for about 4 to 5 years..very nice bike, he had to replace a few items due to she hit it with a baseball bat.
