Just wanted to pass this along in the event it can be of any help. While trying to achieve a yellow discharge on a jade shirt (which was not acceptable enough with all the testing we did since the base turns the shirt grey) a CCI rep told me that some people achieve a good yellow by doing one of the following:
- D-Base with 15% yellow with a little mixing white
or
- D-White with 15% yellow
The attached picture is the D-White with 15% yellow, 2% fixer, and 3% activator on a Charcoal PC61. Looks pretty good to me though we just did it today so it has yet to see the washing machine, and we do not have a whole lot of discharge under our belts yet. This gave us the best results on the jade but was still not quite what it needed to be. It does look like it will work well on those shirts that are fairly dischargeable.
The other two colors are CCI D-White and a lime green (85% D-Base, 11.25% yellow pigment, 3.75% green pigment)

Do you remember what percent activator you used in the lime green? What do you typically activate the D-white to percentage wise? Weird that straight yellow didn't work as well as 85/15 white/yellow.

This is where CCI needs to hustle those new TDS' out. I mean, what level of PC is already in the D-White?

Good question? Anyone that knows want to PM me the answer?

That lime had 3% activator. D-White we have always done at 6%. The attached picture is the following from left to right: D-white with yellow pigment, D-Flo yellow, D-Base with yellow pigment. Keep in mind that this is on a shirt color where straight base turns the shirt a medium grey.
When testing colors I have started running a sample with 3, then 4.5, and then 6% activator since it doesn't take up too much time and will give me more info to work with since we do not do the amount of printing like a lot of you guys out there.

What are the results after washing?

I will take it home this weekend and wash it as I kept forgetting with the long days we have been working as of late. Going put the shirt in my car right now...

We make a yellow with 50 white/50 base and about 10% pigment (per the base).
Makes a killer yellow, but we only do it if it's the only color being printed, or can be printed
last. That much white in the mix doesn't like being stepped on.

My thoughts exactly.

Yep...any ink that is heavy with white pigment should be last in line.
