I am happy to report that YES it works, and it discharges amazingly well. Straight out of the bucket base with ZERO activator, ZERO waste, and a full YEAR shelf life. Brannon will be the distributor in my area, and there are other large distributors across the US so its local to everyone. 70,000 Peachtree road race shirts were printed with this underbase and plastisol on top only a couple of weeks ago, and they looked amazing.
-
Does it have a name yet? or still hush-hush?
-
Pictures of the Print? Or better, pictures of the base on the shirt without any top colors after it was run through the dryer?
When will it be available? And, I'm guessing nobody knows price point yet?
CCI's Premium Base is so stinking cheap, not a big deal to us to have some waste. BUT if pigments came along that would last that long that pop like CCI's, now THAT's a game changer... Or, perhaps that is what you're saying -- can you add pigments to this base that has no activator and have similar results to the other required-to-have-activator bases that you add pigs to?

Original version was Simplexity
-
That is great news!! We look very forward to selling this product line... Will be interesting to see where the price falls.
-
And the current version is called? Anyone?....... :)
-
Simplexity...by GDI inks. I will post a pic in a few. They are looking at mostly the underbase business. That's where its most effective. You can add other pigments, but they wont warranty the base if you do. They have there own pigs, but I haven't tested all of them. For those of you discharging underbase with plastisol on top, this is it. Price will be higher than CCI and its something you have to balance, no activator and a full year shelf life goes a long way in my shop.

How was printability? Dry in issues? Basically treated like standard discharge?
-
Is it formaldehyde free technology or is it still the old smelly discharge powder already mixed in somehow ?
-
does not stink up the shop, yes its zfs. here is a single stroke pic of the underbase.

it looks like it cracked really bad. ;)
-
I didn't want to say anything either, but whoever is doing the stretch/crack test at the end of the dryer should be given a bonus for his efforts.
-
what? that's a distresser! no cracks at all. ;)
-
Oh, you call your crack guy a distresser? We may need to change our office titles too.
-
So when/where can I get some of this???
*we've been reactivating DC mixes, but it's not 100% reliable. At some point, after 3 activations typically, it clods up and is donesies. Some color won't reactivate at all, some have no problem. Seemed to work a little better with Texcharge v. CCI but does work on both. Higher pigment load will frustrate this a little. Just an FYI.

Call Brannon Spot Color Supply

Jason,
What mesh was this pushed through?
-
that's a 110, I just happened to have that screen available, but it would have worked well with a 230 IMO.
-
So may I ask where the difference is to the Virus discharge inks?
I got a sample of them which came activated and has the same shelf life. Available already for a while.

We are talking USA here. I knew of an Italian one for a while as well. Maybe that's the one you are referring to. Don't think anyone in the US has tried it.
-
Of course they do, just ask Brandon. Virus is the name of the Ink manufacturer.

We even have a virus rep here in Oregon, or at least she travels here. I've been meaning to score a sample. She said there's a shop here in portland that uses them, but I don't know who that is and I don't recall her saying who.
-
Yeah, they are a large Nike shop that distros Virus. Or at least they used to. Haven't heard much about it though lately.
-
And yeah it works. But back to the original post. So when, where, how much, how quick may we the masses try this out?
-
Spot Color Supply for details.
-
Meeting with the manufacturer next week. Should have pricing and availability info then.
-
How is the was test with the plastisol over the top? Any issues with adhesion to the pigment in the DC base?
-
It has been almost a month since the last post and I haven't seen any new information about this product.
-
Scott from Spot Color Supply was in our shop today and mentioned it. I don't want to say anything before they make any announcements. But as the saying goes, "If it sounds too good to be true...".

Thats the same saying that is flying around out this way.
-
The sample you see above is no joke, it worked. Brannon should have further details, but it did work on the sample I printed.
-
please tell me the company name.
-
Simplexity and again....contact Spot Color Supply
-
I wrote to Brannon, and the manufacturer seems to be the hang up, he could sell it like crazy with the pre-hype surrounding it...
Steve
-
Should be widely available at multiple distributors in a few weeks, this came from the man himself today via a phone call to me. Brannon is still the supplier in this neck of the woods, per (the man).
