Pretty cool. I prefer darker grey tones and a little distress. Attached a quick and dirty change.
-
looks good. i think its more professional looking than the current..
-
Lame!!! you can do better than that.....

Lame!!! you can do better than that.....
In the nicest way possible I would agree. It looks like some live traced clip art slapped together. You can do better. If you cant pay or trade with one of these guys that can.
-
Yeah I'm having an artist make me something better.
I can make kickass logos for others just not for myself for some reason.
-
this one is lame too!

Looks cool, thanks for the idea! I think im going to actually pay an artist to touch up my old logo and make it more public friendly.

My wife hates the zombie guy.
-
I've always liked the zombie guy logo.

Lame!!! you can do better than that.....
Subtle as always :)
But he is right, you can do better. I like the lettering, but the "e" and the wings are not "as good".
Mayne just some "ink" around the lettering, and loose the wings. The wings will not be "in" in few years, and you will be stuck with the logo (unless you want to change it every few years)

I like this one way better, however it would be rough to put on some things like hats and such. So its more of a shirt design or something like that.
-
not to mention, it really boxes you in to a specific market. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but in a few years, you might find yourself competing in that market, or it might get hit really hard, etc. I like the screen in the zombie guy logo, maybe just take out the zombie guy and put in a really hot chick.
-
i forgot all about the zombie guy logo, i like that one. it kind of reminds me of andys avatar.
-
Here is my 2 cents on company Logo's they should be crisp and clean and able to look good in black and white not so busy. Our company logo ain't nothing great but its clean and to the point and very easy to printand use on a whole lot of stuff.
-
Yeah I was kinda thinking "tramp stamp" with the winged E when I looked at again today. The zombie guy is great for younger people and bands but I'm trying to pick up more schools and so forth... Back to the drawing board. I need something simplistic without looking boring.
-
Dude, spruce up the screen and take out the zombie guy.
The other problem is that locks you into screen printing. What if you get into embroidery and promo items?
-
Zombie Guy is AWESOME, but it's not a logo. Great promo piece for a flyer or printed shop shirts , but shrink it down to 1.5" high and hold it out to arm's length and what does it look like?
3Deep is right... logos should be simple, have a black and white as well as a color version and should preferably be something that can embroider well. You also want it to tell the viewer what it is you do.
I don't like that lower case "e" at all. Wings are cool, though.
If you stick with the grunge look, how about more of a spray-painted stencil look? This one is too blocky and vector-y.
I can tell you're a young, edgy company by looking at that logo. If that's the image you want to project, and the clientele you want to attract, stick with it. If you want to expand to more corporate markets, however, you may need a more conservative, mainstream approach.
-
By the looks of all these samples i need a new logo...Wait... I just need a logo..
-
My artist buddy just sent me a proof sheet a few hours ago.
I like it :P

Good idea, but dress it up some as you said.
Maybe have your artist change it out to something like "endless ink AND string" to cover you for embroidery, even if you sub it out.
Take out the zombie guy and the squeegee and just have the screen with splashy ink and some unraveling and frizzy spools of thread.
You DID pose for the zombie guy, right? :D

I'm not even old enough to be bitching about this but why does no one pay attention to the importance of your type in the logo anymore? Ours can be printed full color, black&white, or...just the font, the text, the bones of the whole thing.
If the text works, on it's own, then you have something versatile that you can use full throttle with all the bell's and whistles...or reduce to simple typeface and still, everybody knows that's you.
You could carry out this concept with the very nice piece of you pulling the squeegee with a few adjustments, no?

We tried this new logo yesterday.

Endless, what is wrong with the one you have on your entrance door?
Does the job. It is nothing extravagant, but it is clean and simple.
-
I'm with Dennis.
I've always dug your zombie man, but for trying to get more corporate, business to business type clients, simple sells. And the one on your door is easy enough to tweak in any way you want. Distress it out & grunge it up for the trendy clients and bands, or plain & simple 1/2 color for the schools & corporate accounts. And the main elements of the design stay the same for any sort of marketing-branding you do for your business.
-
Agreed on the door logo!
-
Here it is. Our logo has three elements in it that we use together or separately- the rail spike, the bee and the text. These biz cards have it semi-deconstructed and the "full" b&w one below shows it all together. The text/typeface and the spike are the two major elements that people seem to be recognizing the most so far. We've been using this setup for about 8 months now and so far, so good, open to critiques of course.

Point was that you could roll with the good art (zombie guy) and hone down the text in there to be used stand alone when the zombie guy isn't appropriate. Don't be shy about what yer all about either. We aren't the most "pc" business by a long shot and folks are o.k. with that here.
-
I just followed Before and After's "logo of letters" advice for making my logo. Business name is Empire Graphics:

This one is kind of stylized with an alien skin texture fill, but its easy to make spot color, single color, etc.
-
Yeah, I like the door graphic, that looks great. I think you would be served fine with that.
Keep the zombie guy for marketing materials. I wouldn't classify it as a logo.

Heres my critique and I thank you for yours, really!
My idea of a good logo is that you know instantly what the business is about. If I hadnt seen your logo on a screen printing forum I would think first of all... (since I personally notice pics before text) ok rail raod spike (trains) , bee (honey?) , ZOO (animals) "what does all this mean?" It's not instant but at the same time it does draw me to your logo if I have enough time to figure it out. I have no idea what you do until I see apparel.. "ohhh apparel ok..." but still nothing that let's me know that you screen print. Know what I mean?
I have a friend here that has a screen printing business too his business is named (insert persons name) Customs . Ok custom what? Custom cakes? Cars? ... wtf do you do man? He then later added screen printing lol. (one of those times I wish I kept my mouth shut)
I think I just tapped into a different subject, business names & logos.
-
Definitely Shawn. Our thing is that our logo has to serve double duty for our retail line (about half the business) and our custom printing arm of the company. We're a hybrid company basically with two distinct wings. If we marketed ourselves as a custom print shop exclusively we probably wouldn't be able to accommodate all the work without getting to be a much larger, high-production based outfit and that's not what we want to do. As it is, most know us for our clothing line (one popular style actually has developed into another sub-line) and then figure out we do custom work too. This provides all the business that I want and need for now. I used to have the name as Zoo City Custom Apparel but dropped the "custom" last year. Zoo City is slang for Missoula and this is the region where 90% of our sales go down, we're not a web-based company although we do take on work from around the Western half of the country so recognition outside the area isn't a big need for us..
Endless Ink Printing is a great name I think, especially if you do other types of printing, like flatstock items, etc. I stuck with "apparel" because it covers both the bases for us. We're installing a flatstock line early next month so now there's thoughts of splitting the company into two sub-co's for the retail clothing line/store and the custom print shop. I'd definitely get the term "printing" in there or something synonymous if that happened.
