Title: ISS Fort Worth (am I the only one?)
Post by: Gilligan on August 16, 2013, 10:06:19 PM
I don't see anyone talking about it and we are almost 30 days away.

This will be my first show and we are going to make the most of it... Every minute is filled with classes or something... Barely will have time to hit the floor it seems!

Wo else is going to be there?

I'm thinking about it, we've been twice.  The second visit is where I bought my sportsman e.  The only thing about going is that both times we were swamped and barely got a full day in at the show.  We're going to do our darndest to make it.

I will be there, I'm trying to bring one of my guys with me so he can see what's new and maybe motivate him to get his head out of his anus but if we're busy I'll have to run up there solo.

Hey, I'll be there doing the seminar 'thang'.

I usually do Riscky's BBQ at 6 PM on Thursday night.  http://www.risckys.com/. (http://www.risckys.com/.)

Lots of great choices, 4-5 blocks from Convention Center, and not crowded on Thursday night so they do not chase you out.  We can talk 'shop' as long as the beverages hold out.

Good BBQ, lots of beverage choices, and you probably will get sauce on your 'decorated apparel'!

We won't need reservations unless a huge amount of people plan to participate.

My printer and I will be attending some of those classes (he might be at all of them actually)... we will most likely join you for BBQ as well.  When in Texas...

I had dinner last night with the Erin from ISS and Marcia from Impressions at the MAGIC show and they both indicated they would be joining us for this get together.

Hope to meet several new 'old' friends in person!

Hi, it's "the" Erin!
Y'all don't want to miss this year's Ft Worth show! It's the largest it's been since 2008! We will have a packed house with 35 seminars and 5 workshops. 17 new exhibitors and over 35,000 square feet.
The show starts Thursday, September 26 until Saturday, September 28.
See you guys Thursday night for bbq!

Well only a week away from the ISS show in Fort Worth and it is going to be a monster.

Lots of exhibitors & attendees!

Just wanted to repeat the invitation to join other TSB members for BBQ on Thursday night at Riskys', see details in the previous post.

See ya at the show!  Make sure and introduce yourself if you see me on the floor or in one of my seminar presentations.

I have been thinking about going.  Never been to a tradeshow actually, so this would be my first.  My brother-in-law lives in Ft. Worth so I will probably do dinner with him.  I would only be able to make it Friday and Saturday.  I hadn't planned on doing anything but looking at presses and other equipment.  What are the must do things besides the exhibit floor?

Sounds like a lot of fun. I'll be attending as the "better" half of the 2 Regular Guys Podcast. I love Risky's and it was my grandfather's favorite too and he is who introduced me to BBQ.

I've looked around a bit, but I can't find much info on pricing...or is it all free?  I guess I assumed things besides the tradeshow weren't free.  When I registered it just showed $0.00 everywhere.  Anyone know?

Just to walk the floor if you pre-register it's free... at some point it cost a few bucks.  Not sure when that cut off date is.

The workshops cost money.  But I bought the full ride and it's only $175 bucks.

I had a couple of PM's from people who have never heard me talk wondering what I do in my ISS seminars.

The simplest answer I can give you is to make you stop and think about how you are doing things in your shop.  Almost 70% of ISS attendees have never done an educational ISS seminar because they "Know Everything" about what they do.

My challenge to that is, "How do you know what you don't know?"  If I am doing my job correctly you will leave one of my presentations with more questions than you arrived with, BUT they will be questions that when answered will make you more productive, therefore more PROFITable.

You can call it working smarter, or lean production, or anything else that you desire but my presentations are about getting the most for your decorated apparel investment in equipment, staff, time and the dollars you have invested in your biz.

I believe that I can help any decorator get more out of what they have no matter the size of your business.  However the people I like to work with the best are those who are successful in spite of themselves and are looking to hire another employee, buy their first auto and/or right size their business.

If you are paying attention to the interactive questions between me and the attendees you will find many other decorators who have faced and solved the same problems you deal with ever day in your operation.  This NETWORKING is often the best ROI you get from attending an industry trade show.

Hope to see many of you at Fort Worth ISS this week and Orlando SGIA Oct 23-25.

For those of you who are making the trek to Fort Worth later this week for the ISS Show, make sure and mark 3:00 - 4:30 PM on Friday for the Roundtable discussions.  Charlie Taubleib, Dane Clement, Jimmy Lamb, Deborah Jones & myself will be available for 1 on 1 Q & A.   Move from table to table as the discussions evolve.

Rodney from T-Shirt Forums described it like a face to face forum where you have immediate feedback and interaction.

Great conversation with immediate ROI.

See you there,

I like the Ft. Worth Show and try to make it every year, but not this year. Too many jobs to get out the door. But as I told my wife (and she agrees) better to make money than spend it.

Hey TSB gang,

I am gonna miss the BBQ dinner tonight.  Had a bit of an accident and I'm on crutches and not getting around very well.

Hope to see many of you in the round table discussions tomorrow at ISS.
