Title: Double stroke squeegee from Action
Post by: TCT on August 28, 2013, 08:28:09 PM
Anyone ever use one of these double stroke squeegees from Action?

The idea is interesting, just wondering how they work. For discharge especially, I was thinking of slapping 2 Smilin' Jack's in there..... Overkill?

I've eyeballed them but haven't tried yet.  It would be an immense help to us if it avoided 2x stroking DC/WB.  Blade angle and cleaning are my concerns.

Cleaning would be a doosie, WB/DC would be much easier.

I have one.  I notice a little difference, it didn't WOW me, my favorite is double bevel. As for cleaning the double stroke, I don't... I use it for white only

I'll speak up for Erik.........they were initially designed for WB. It will shorten your stroke length (although that could be miscontrued as a personal problem!) and angle must be adjusted accordingly.
I had a prototype for M&R vs

I would think this would be a great tool for those who have to double stroke WB/DC inks.  I know with some autos they just don't have the downward force to get the ink out of the stencil with one stroke so if I had one of those presses, this will cut production in half, assuming it works like it's supposed to.

Thank you for bringing up this topic TC. The Double Stroke Squeegee design was greatly improved about this time last year. The new design holds the two blades tightly, parallel, and at very precisely an angle of 15 degrees. The one that you have pictured is the current and correct one & shown for use on MHM machinery.

All of the reasons I see listed here are legitimate. 100's have been shipped with an unconditional guarantee that either you agree with the value and it works as you hope or we'll pay to get it back and refund your purchase. We have only had to refund a few of these. Many many of the orders for one become an order for 6 more after they are tested. Note - it's not the same as flooding twice and stroking twice. It's not going to reload the stencil. It will however have a second blade of 70/90/70 that easily clears anything the first blade missed. There are numerous benefits to these.

Tony - IROTFL - thanks for the laughs.

I invite any & all our TSB friends to please take us up on this offer.

Just need to figure out how they will fit in an SRoque. TCT is out of luck as am I because of the holders we have and how they are set-up. We can't get a 15 degree with the current way you make them, plus they need to be reengineered so they will actually fit in. Feel like an ass in this post but we can't use them :(

Hello Ryan: I recall having some initial challenges with the newest member to our list of machinery to support. Is this something that you paid for and is not working for you? Please allow us to refund it if it is. And please excuse my lack of complete recollection on this matter.

we tried twice to get the right fit and it didn't work. I honestly don't know if I got a refund or not. I sent them back, but I will have to check on that

They made a roller squeegee for me that "fits" the S.Roque, but it is angled all wrong, like Ryan said. We still use it though, but the angle on a roller squeegee is a bit less important than say a squeegee! We probably wouldn't be able to get close to accurate angels, good point Ryan.

the roller runs at "15 degrees" not zero so with a "standard" squeegee, we can only run from 10 degrees to -10 degrees

Sorry for digging up this post but I was looking at this and wondering if anyone uses them and if they work. Would love to only have to stroke once
