Title: Air Conditioned Diamondback feature..
Post by: dirkdiggler on September 25, 2013, 07:07:27 PM
Added this option to my Diamondback today!  How could I have been so stupid the past 16 years!  Smartest thing I ever did.  Need to post a pic of it.

we copied Alan's idea a couple years back and put a wall unit ac on a job cart and would roll it up next to where we were working then, one day someone decided to bang into it, knocked it over almost took out my foot and the freon line blew shooting gas and compressor oil all over the place. lol, pulled the plug on that idea every happening again  ;D

I am doing my damnedest, but I can't figure out what the hell you guys are talking about. I can understand AC bringing comfort to the worker, but I am having a hard time understanding it's purpose specifically regarding a machine. Do Diamondbacks run hot?

I guess all will be made clear with a picture.

Rest assured the air conditioner is NOT for the press. They are a hot sales item but not that hot!

Its an after market idea, not related to the machine.  Will get a pic up later.

I have seen a new prototype control panel with AC and heat controls.

But this was supposed to be done only on Gauntlets, not on Diamondbacks :)

great idea for your press ops!!! I've seen that in drycleaning plants that my dad has built in the past so hot in those places they would have a 10-20 unit run non stop with cold dumps at every work station to keep the troops moving for 14 hour days without over heating. How big is the unit you are getting that from? Is it your office unit with an added drop? I wonder what an average 2-3 ton unit would do to the electric 8 hours a day 5-6 days a week blowing non-stop. I guess you could shut it down during set ups and non press running times to conserve, but that must be nice. We are at 75% humidity today in nice muggy Lakeland Fl.

thermostat is in the office, so it cycles as the office needs it to.  but its badass while its running.
