Congratulations are in order for Danny at US Recognition and Jeremy Duncan for art and separations. They took first place in sim process category at the ISS show and also for creative design category. I knew Danny's printing was worthy of an award and we've all known for years that Jeremy would easily win. Congrats to both. Hope to see more with at SGIA in Orlando.
I think this is the image that was entered.

awesome!!...that's a cool shirt...I'd buy one.

Thanks a bunch Dan! It was our first time entering any competition so we are pretty shocked we actually placed. The shirts we entered were just production promo shirts we did that we send to new potential clients to show our printing. The zombie rocker design you posted above was 1 of 2 shirts we submitted but it actually did not place at all. Jeremy and I both thought the zombie shirt we submitted was better then the shirt which won. Attached is the shirt that we won first place with, it was titled beer promo. We are going to challenge ourselves with some skin tone stuff on the next submissions we do so hopefully we can spend some time on them next time rather then just submitting promo shirts. We still have a long ways to go on our printing but this gives us some drive to improve what we can print. I'd like to congratulate all the other entries as well as I'm sure there were many many worthy submissions. Here's the shirt that was our winner:
Also just a note for those that don't know we've only been around since 07 but prior to starting purchased the client base and name of a local company that had been around since 1980. Since I'm only 27 and my brother is a few years older I'm sure some wondered why our shirt said since 1980 but that's why.

Thanks everyone again!!! I still know we have a long ways to go to compete with guys like Andy A, our boy P, plus many many more but it's awesome to throw our name in the mix with all them. I'll check to see how many shirts we have left and if there's enough I can send some out to whoever wants one......I'll try to get some good pics when I can as well
I'm willing to post the specs of the print but I'd really only like to do it to show the members here.... I can attach a spec job sheet that gives all the info but is there anyway to make it so only tsb members can see the attachment?
Screens - All newman rollers 40+ newtons, imaged screens on lawson express jet cts, nuarac 3140 cts exposure and printed on a M&R Challenger 3......

Spectacular print Danny, and Jeremy's art is always top notch. Congratulations. I was 27 before 1980, LOL...

Congrats. You can post the specs in the "Business" section and only members can see it.
Or post it in the political discussion and everyone that has opted in can rip eachother a new one over it.
-
For anyone interested I posted my print specs over in the business section for members to see..... Nothing super special but for those that are asking that was the specs I did when I printed these.... There's a bit of info or specific info that I did not put on there but for the most part there's lots of info.

Hey Danny,
Excellent stuff!!
I was surprised at the 50lbs pressure. Thought I was way too hard being the same (40-50) on our Sportsman
with 25-35Newton screens. Looks like I'm not cranking too hard.
You printers out there are less pressure and clearing all ink on a regular basis?
Thx!
-
We print with way less pressure on most jobs but this design I wanted little to no hand with the ink. We drove the ink way down into the base and shirt itself on this job with the pressure. Most jobs we print with between 25-40 lbs almost all the time. For those that get to see and touch the shirt in person you will see what I'm talking about with the hand of the ink. For it being plastisol ink the print is super thin and soft.
-
40-50 is what I print at, outside a few special cases.

Awesome prints man!!! Easily deserving of top place from what those look like! Awesome prints maybe if you have any extra we could trade shirts! Danny

Well played. Many have experienced superior graphic quality with a DC/UB. Smoother and sharper detail with minimal dot gain
nice work!
