As a parent entrepreneur, finding that balance is a struggle. What I have learned is to celebrate the victory moments when it all falls in to place. And on the SUPER RARE occasions that multiple victories happen on the same day or even with in the same hour…. well, thats what I call a Prince moment and you gotta Party like it’s 1999!!! Example this morning I managed to wake up before the alarm ( victory #1) -Shower and get dressed (victory #2) – get 3 kids up and dressed with no arguments (victory #3) – make pancakes from scratch (victory #4) – empty the dishwasher (victory #5) – clean up my “June Clever” breakfast (victory #6) and get the kids to the bus on time (victory #7) All before 6:45AM!!
So on my drive into work I turned on the only Prince song in my iTunes library and I Partied like it’s 1999 all the way down main street!!
There really is so much more to what we do than just putting ink on a t shirt!!!
Talk to you soon!!

Hell Megan, for those of us who have partied like it was 1969, just getting up each morning is a victory!
Enjoy yours!

Turning 52 today. 30 years ago I didn't know if I'd make it to 25. Proving 'em wrong every day!

This thread makes me happy for multiple reasons as a younger guy (just turned 30 - victory #1) who is about to transition to printing full time (victory #2) and has a kid on the way (victory #3). I ate a breakfast bar for breakfast though and I don't have an ipod... :D

I got out of the house before 9... does that count?
(our shop opens at 9) :)

Great post and replies. Waking up every day is a victory. Wife was sick yesterday so instead of leaving at 6, had to make breakfast (eggs and sausage) load dogs into truck, wait for bus since pouring rain, drop dogs at vet, and then deal with bad traffic. I think they were all victories.

Brad, you should bring your wife to a real doctor... and never let her know you are calling her a dog. ;)

November is a popular month, my odometer clicked over to 57 on the Tuesday 5th also.

Victory 1 woke up after 3 hits of the snooze button (this never happens usually up before the alarm)
V2 at the shop by 3:45 to coat 45 screens so Megan had something to print with out of the shop by 5.
V3 arived in NY by 7:30 with no traffic
V4 all the parts I had ordered were at the job site.
Down side forgot to eat breakfast, no pancakes for me And it's raining which means it will be a long ride home.

...small world, I also count an extra tree ring on Nov. 5th. Turned 43 on Tuesday.
...we should proclaim it National Worn-Out Screenprinter Day or something like that.

Glad all you are dong great, right now our world is kind of up side down, Son played his last high school football game last Thursday, very simple tackle and torn his ACL, now he has to have surgery, and on top of that he is worried that the recruiters might not want him now. Well hope we can get some victories somewhere down the road.

I feel ya my son was scouted for lacrosse last season the next game he broke his hand, half way through summer lacrosse / football conditioning he explodes a large firework off in his hand removing part of his thumb and burning his arms trunk and groin. It Felt like his future was slipping away. He recovered. Some loss of feeling but he is ok. The point is life has a way of working itself out. My nephew was looking to get a huge scholarship from a few division one schools for baseball, he came down with a heart condition that ended his baseball "career". A victory then would have been to continue to play a victory now is to stay alive. Life can quickly change your perspective, He graduated with a double masters with an academic scholarship, point is life has its ways of working things out, don't stress the detours in life he's young the world is still at his feet . I wish you guys the best, I really know what your feeling right now it stinks but stay positive.

I'm 43 and people I went to high school with, some are now expecting their 4th child........last night the only hurdle I had to face was "For dinner do I eat Subway or Arby's?"
I don't if this is a celebratory victory or a loss.

Roger sorry to hear that, life can toss you some curve ball's every now and then you just got to keep swinging. The doctors say he'll be back and up in about 6 weeks after surgery and full playing strength by fall, hey I hope your son is fine and keep his head up as I tell my own son.
