screen capture of an image from a flash site
« on: April 27, 2012, 09:42:36 PM »
I just got one of those jobs where I may have trouble getting decent art, even though I know it exists.

I did see a pretty good image on their site that may trace, but it only appears for about three seconds, then changes to a different image.
There is obviously no right click and save or copy image, and a Print Screen just gets the background.

So, is there a way to snag it?

I'm hoping that I will get an email with a good version, this weekend, but just in case...

In case anyone is interested, here'e the site, and yes, it's the black sunflower image I want.

stupid idea but can you load the site, wait for it to pop up and then take a pic with a digital camera?
...keep doing what you're doing, you'll only get what you've got...

Not so stupid. Gets a better image than the 1/2" version they gave me (printed in  reflective copper metallic ink yet!). It's a start. My first trace attempt was pretty feeble though.

I use something called PrintKeyPro

http://www.warecentral.com/

It's a nice little piece of software that triggers when you press your Print Screen Key.

Having said that, you could have done the same thing using just what you have.

When the image comes up on the screen, press your Print Screen Key.  Open MS Paint and just do a CTRL + V to paste what it placed on the scratchpad and save out as .jpg

So Paint outperforms its more sophisticated brethren from Adobe and Corel in this instance, eh?

I'm confused.

I thought we were talking about the ability to "capture" an image from your screen, like a Web Site Image.  How can you pick up an image from the "scratchpad" to Adobe or Corel?  It's Friday.  I must have missed something.

Well, I'll be.  You can CTRL + V into Corel.  In that case, why was it a problem in the first place?

That is great, and the owner couldn't even find that today! Go figure.
Thanks.

I usually click Print Screen, then Paste. That's what wouldn't work with this, except, that of course, now it does! It must have just been changing when I hit Proint Screen the first time, and I thought that it was just a problem with the Flash Player.
But, of course, with the clean pdf file, all of that was just an exercise in futility.
