National Dryer Problems
« on: March 26, 2014, 07:25:21 AM »
I have an old National Gas dryer. We were having problems wi it getting up to temp. I talked to someone that suggested we change the heat sensor ( in the chamber where the flame is) but that did not help so them we changed the Temp controller (Maxitrol) no help either. The next thing to try is change the Modulator valve. Anyone have any other suggestions? We turn it on at 8am and it does not get up to temp until around 11am.

2. Clean filters
3. Check gas pressure
4. Check fan

turn it on at 5. ;)

how are you determining the temp?  readout on the dryer, or testing garments exiting the dryer?

you should lightly sand and clean your flame rods about every 6 months or so...it will lengthen their usable life.

ummm, i'd call Winston...the resident gas dryer expert.

The digital readout on the Temp Control would read 275, the dial would be set at 400 and the shirt temp with gun read 355. I will give winston a call.
Thanks

I called Winston but his message box was full so I could not leave a message. Got his handle on here so I can send a message?

Check your flame pak.  Also, there are two valves underneath that control gas pressure reset them prior to start up.  Those are two quick suggestions that machine is particular.  Also, check all the fuses because the machine will start and begin to heat even one of the little fuses is blown.
