Printing waterbase over discharge ub

I know that you can't use 100% white disharge and print plastisol over it and expect it to stick but what about waterbase?  Do you have to dillute the white discharge ub before printing a waterbase color on top?

Hmmm I've printed 100% DC base white and printed plastisol on top, and it stayed on, I've did a few wash test, but could be I didn't do enough test but we've never had anyone bring them back.  Might have gotten lucky ;)

Doug, 100 percent white will work if you can flash to prevent build up and your colors muddying up but I would NOT recommend the 100 percent or the flashing. a 85/15 base/wite mix does the trick for me. also it really helps to use chino base in your overprint colors ith 160- 200 mesh. of course thats relative to what kind of mesh your using. I also like the 70/90/70 squeegie durometor but again it depends on your press and your printing technique. why not just run straight up discharge?

I appreciate the replies.  I wanted to straight discharge both the white and the red but I can never seem to get a good Red by mixing pigments.  I ended up discharging the ub and printing red plastisol over.  I didn’t dilute the white base with regular base.  I just ended up flashing for a rediculous amount of time.

I’m wash testing tonight.  Hopefully, everything is good or I will have to reprint.  At least there is only 35 of them if the wash test doesn’t pass.

the ABSOLUTE best red on the market is the sericol . Hands down straight out of the bucket  they make 2 shades

your wash testing should be fine if you fully flashewd the base

I appreciate that.  I'll have to give it a try. 

I'm going to a class for waterbase in July.  Something tells me, I'll leave there with a little more knowledge and wishing I had a longer dryer.
