Unikote Issue??
« on: January 08, 2019, 10:54:55 AM »
Does anyone have this problem with the big blobs of emulsion after the scrape like in this pic?  Thanks in advance for your help.

NO, But try a little less emulsion in the trays. Also may have to do with screen tension being a little looser in the corners.

Tried all that, still no luck!

Try upping the time on the Scrape Delay. 3 seconds works for us. If that doesn't help then you might have a tension issue like Rick said or another variable.

film it with a video camera and review in slow motion. It will give you some idea of what's going on.

Also important to note that all emulsions have different rheolgies and viscosities. Second, there are sharp/rounded options on the trays. Also speed can fall into play here. And number of coats/passes. Surely loose corners may be an issue as Rick mentioned. Tension meter will point that out. Check the corners vs center. Settings on the machine may be adjusted however, I would advise to check with M&R on that. This is not an uncommon issue, regardless of machine. Many keep scrape cards as a bandaid but the that sort of defeats the process of being automated. As I stand on my soap box....do the reseach and excersize one variable at a time. It normally takes time but the pay off is well worth it!

M&R are trying to duplicate it in their showroom, I know others have had this issue, just cant find the fix.  It will come though.
