No ISS COlumbus in 2013
« on: November 22, 2012, 09:18:37 AM »
I just happened to notice that there will be no ISS in Columbus, Ohio this coming year.  I always look forward to the classes there.  I guess us Ohio guys are going to have to get together for a road trip out to a larger show this spring.

Last I looked Orlando has been dumped, too. I'd drive to Atlanta, but that show was always smaller than the Orlando one (or was the one time I stopped in there).

Orlando was shifted from the traditional February dates to April 11-13, 2013.

Perhaps, if they did drop two of the original seven, it either freed up that time, or helped spread out the series better.

I looked a couple of months ago and didn't see it. Hot damn! Thanks for rooting that out, Andy. Small as it's been the last few years, I always find someone to BS with over an hour or so. Got a sample of some nice heat pressed vinyl from Stahls last show and order a bunch from them, and shot the $h!t with Rodney from a competing forum.

Well, as you saw, if I hadn't. Royster and Richard  still did come up with the info as well  ;D.

Glad to see you back, if even merely a brief stop Richard, have a nice Thanksgiving!

In 2013, ISS will have five shows instead of the seven we had in 2012. We did remove Columbus from the calendar due to lack of support from attendees and exhibitors. We acknowledge there is a need for a Midwest show, however, we don't want to just have a show and not have it be successful for everyone! We have also removed the Atlanta show to focus more on one Southeast show during the year and that will be Orlando in April, as Richard has mentioned. The first quarter is saturated with tradeshows and we are trying to spread out our schedule for everyone. For more information about our shows, please always check out our website at www.ISSshows.com. I noticed someone referenced another website for information. Unfortunately, they don't always have the correct information, so it's always best to get it straight from the horse's mouth!
Thanks to this board for the continued support of our shows! We look forward to seeing y'all in 2013 at any of our five shows!

Back in 2006 we went to our first ISS show in Schaumburg IL, our business was just starting.  There were a lot of people and vendors at this show.  We attended the classes they offered  We went the next two years after.  The crowds were getting thinner along with the vendors.  The classes really hadn't changed much.  I can understand why there was drop off in attendance.  I can also understand why they would move the show to another location.  But what sucks is now there is nothing close for anyone in the midwest.  A lot of mom and pop shops can't afford the travel costs to go to these shows.

Please make it a point to head out to Atlantic City in March. It is our second largest show and we are already over in sales from this time last year. M&R, SanMar, Tech Support, Broder, Hirsch, Gildan and many others have already committed to the largest Northeast decorated apparel show in 2013.
Thanks!
