The super large preview image is the actual digital file you would want to download if Digital is what you are looking for. It's 600ppi at 11"wide. Therefore, the large preview. The jpg you see, is only so people can see what they are downloading easily. That jpg is not for production use.
The Illustrator vector file is editable. On another layer, it is live inking art.
