This video explains the Adobe Illustrator vector, art setup preparation for separations and the different ways required when printing using what was known to be traditional film printing methods by older laser toner printers or high end photo film imagesetters. Today, with many of us using digital printers, this would be equal to using 1 black ink cartridge in the Epson 1430 film printer. Today, to make it more cost effective, and obtain dark or opaque films, we print using all CMYK cartridges replacing the color with black ink in each and use refillable cartridges. Very cost effective this way., but doe require the art setup to be done differently and is what would be called “manually”. Most who started out using digital printers and using all black ink, only know this method. Printing films using the ALL BLACK ink method is more of a “work around” in conjunction with AccurRip (or any other rip).
