Lighter Pantones
« on: October 13, 2023, 03:08:46 PM »
For years we've been needing lighter shade Pantones than 7499c, to the extent that we've created our own
which are basically 7499 + x% white.

I even contacted the fine folks at Pantone to see if anything could be done, and surprisingly got a response,
but the fella didn't really understand what I was saying and when I finally was able to explain the issue
he said he would "see what could be done". So yeah. Still holding my breath.

Frankly I'm super surprised this isn't an issue in other industries, is 7499 like the lightest color
an offset press can hold or something?

Get the Pastels & Neons Solid Coated book, it has some shades that you may be looking for.

I share your frustration as well with this,

also want there to be more cool grays, the Pantone blacks are too dark, and Cool Grey 11 doesn't go dark enough in some cases.

But honestly could also live with less Pantones, give me a book of just good colors.
