I think my 3000 bit the dust.
« on: February 24, 2012, 07:21:25 PM »
What do you guys use now for film printing.

Came back from a long vacation and now my 3000 won't suck up the ink after I tryed cleaning it cause it was clogged bad.  I tried using a vacum hose to help get it started (this worked last time I had this issue).

What are you guys using now that reasonable and comparable to the 3000.

like the price of 1400, but would like something that can print 17'' wide.
Do you need Rip for the 1400?

Search around for a 4000. Thats what I got and its been great. I have seen a few on Craigslist for cheap. I use a 17 in roll and refillable bulk ink.

I got this 3000 from the inkjet doctor a couple of years ago and it was rebuilt.

BTW, I asked the inkjet doctor, and he not a real doctor.

Do you run a bulk ink system?  Soemtimes a change in pressure can effect those, you have to let it balance for a day or two.  You can also try printing a HUGE block of black ink.  That gets things moving

It prints zero ink right now.  I have an idea I'll try, if that don't work I will probably have to get something else.

If you want 17 inches the Epson 4000 can be found under $400. @jblue, are you running all black or clear in the other carts?

I went from a 3k to a 4800 and a 1400.  Both have been great.  The 1400 kicks a surprising amount of ass for it's low cost.

ditto!

I do have a 3k I'd be willing to sell though. 4800 is much smarter option, but if it is not in the cards, I have 3000 with about 10 ink cartridges and some film. make me an offer!
Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!
