Yeah, but when I post something like this up I get yelled at and told to just drop the coin on a real dryer.  ::)

I'd be a bit nervous about the wooden enclosure, insulated or not, but to really round out the "Fred Flintstone" look, he could've made the legs out of logs with the bark left on them.   :P

wow, that is about the dumbest thing I have ever seen.  It takes a while for wood to dry out, but when it does, that thing has a really good chance at lighting up.  Holy cow that is dumb.

And yes Gilligan, I would yell at you for that too.  This actually reminds me of a post I put up last week.  Anybody remember what happens to wood when it is exposed to heat for long periods?

All it takes is for one shirt to get stuck and catch on fire, the inside would start burning first and probably get out of hand before you could do anything to stop it, and as Brad said once that wood is dry it will possibly self combust just from radiant heat build up.

That's one scary video. In addition to the home made fire pit of a dryer, I see a wall mounted heater and a wall outlet without a cover - both within inches of the dryer.

Hope he's got good insurance.

Homer, well... that dryer does have a very long infeed so they aren't THAT close. ;)

For the record, I don't know this guy... just posted a video. :)

Homer didn't you once dry tees in your oven ( so did I when I first started HA ha), but I would agree that is a fire hazard waiting to happen, do ya think my insurance would cover that if bought one lol.  On the bright side just goes to show what you can do if you have to.
