Epson 3880 or 3800 or other?
« on: March 21, 2012, 11:02:12 AM »
As much as I hate to do it, I have to replace my HP 9800 with something larger so I can print bigger films.  I have an HP T1100 24" but cannot get the films anywhere near dark enough with the standard print properties and I don't have time to put into making it work with an over-priced RIP software when everyone else out there is using Epson with all the support in the world for films lol.  So I give in!

Looking to buy from Epson's refurbished site and there's a $5 difference between the two:

What do you guys think?  I'll probably start a new topic on which ink to use, but if you have suggestions throw them at me.  Thanks!

Watch Craigslist. There are great deals out there on 4000's and 4800's. Most of the time half of what you are looking at from EPSON.

I'm in a pretty rural area and there's rarely printers on Craigslist that meet the criteria within a 3 hour radius.  One 4000 local but guy wants $750 sheeeesh!  Might lowball him.
