it is pretty cool. It leaves a sort of mottled effect as only the cotton discharges.

Re: 50/50?? - Poly discharge

This makes me ask, has there ever been a product that discharges the inks (from ploy) ?  Lets say we had something that was 70% poly. What would release or dissolve or react with the garment dye from poly (more so than heat does) ?

Actually you can discharge base many 65/35 poly cotton blends and tri-blends with viscose. We do it all the time.

Simple answer: Rayon

So you add Rayon to get a discharge print? Doesn't sound simple.

If I read Tony's post correctly, he's saying that he has successfully discharged many poly/cotton blends as well as tri-blends containing rayon.

As with most discharge on suspect garments, always try a sample, and even if successful, keep your fingers crossed for consistent results.

Correct Andy. Some of the earlier heathered 50/50s from Alt App and Am App worked beautifully with discharge pigmented inks. Most tri-blends won't take color very well but a DC base usually knocks out enough dye to overprint with plastisol and get a softer hand. Tultex, Nxt level, and Am Apps work well. Royal apparel sucks. So yes, test of course.

HaHa Andy......I use Viscose because it's on the label, confuses people, and makes me look smarter than I am!
Seriously though Viscose is a type of rayon just as sports gray and ash are different types of heathers.
