I don't know a thing about drums, but the first thing is to know what the basshead is make of (insert joke here, CRACK!!!!) lol fisrt to choose a ink to be printed on it.  Simlpe water base ink should work since its air dry, but I,m thinking Nazdar screen Inks would be a good source for your answer.  Far as printing any nice flat surface you can lay the drum on will work unless your doing a multi color print that needs tight registration, then you might have to get a special pallet make.

Air dry inks for sure.

use a higher mesh screen, 305 or 355.

we built a platten out of some paper that we had. try and have smoething hard under it so it doesn't flex when pressure is put on it.

If one color, I'd consider sign vinyl.

we use vinyl like frogger, way easier. . .  just be aware it will change the tone of the drum.

I think they are made of polyester, I would think a MP solvent based ink would bite, Heck vinyl ink would be worth a try too.

Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

Be sure to apply the stencil with Hobbyist removable mist adhesive if you go this way
