Title: MSP 3140 and Discharge...
Post by: dirkdiggler on April 27, 2014, 04:09:19 PM
This was inspired by another thread, but here goes.  Since this is a widely popular unit and many of us have one, lets assume we have a BRAND new bulb and factory calibrations, using film:  Those who are exposing for discharge, what emulsion and how many ltu?

I can give a range of maybe 150 to 350?

Variables:

Mesh thread count
Mesh thread diameter
Mesh color
Emulsion brand and type
Humidity
Scoop coater edge
Coating method
Final EOM
Film clarity (or lack thereof)
True voltage at the outlet and whether the unit was adjusted for it

Etc, etc.

You can get a ball park here but the only way to tell is to test and re-test for each variable.
