New Year Change?
« on: December 30, 2014, 10:58:50 AM »
Who and what are your big changes in your company for 2015?  we've started a little early #1 we got a website #2 bringing new items in to print for our customer's #3 doing away with the minimum #4 going to dive more into DC printing, those are just the top of the list, getting a bigger dryer is on the list for 2015 down the line...oh and hope a new item we are printing catches on and sell...one never knows :)

To start:
1. Fix staffing in our embroidery area.
2. Larger Dryer for screen printing.

There is a longer list but these have to happen this coming year.

I know i have a couple of things on my list!
-Notation and documentation for all prints and procedures
-Standardizing our ink formulas
-Getting an Auto screen coater (which will help with the documentation of screens)
-Build a quoting software so we don't have to use Tworks!
-oh yeah get bigger orders with all these new autos!

Add either a head screenprinter, or a general helper with graphics skills to free me up.

Refine systems and organization.

Maybe buy the building and stop paying rent.

Going CTS and find a crew that I can count on to do everything correctly without me standing over them all day.  I'm so sick of dealing with employees that do stupid stuff that they shouldn't be doing.  There is no excuse, they're just sleepwalking through the day and getting paid for it.  You guys should see some of the stuff I have to deal with these days, if it wasn't happening to me I'd think it was hilarious.

-We are adding some storage area above some rooms in our warehouse area, now, as well as rebuilding the washout area to be cleaner and more waterproof.

-Showroom is being redone, next week. Local mural-type artist coming in to do some REALLY cool & funky tee-related art on our walls. We are also refinishing the floor. All displays will be gone thru and updated for the new year.

-General yearly cleanup, rearranging and de-cluttering of the shop as a whole.

-We are excited to be wetting our beaks in embroidery, we should get the machine in a month or so.

- Updating the website to include some web-based software that should increase our retail/end-user sales. WHICH MEANS...

-We can begin the process of moving away from so much wholesale/contract work. The goal is to fire off three of those contract clients that have been the most problematic, by the end of March.

-Replacing the 6/8 press with a 10/12 or 12/14 is on the list, but we may be better served waiting til '16 for that.

-All of the above translates into MORE TIME FOR MORE FUN. The last two years have been a ball-buster. Not necessarily a bad thing, as the numbers are good, but sheeesh, I'm old and tired. Santa brought me some fun new toys that I hope to have time to play with now... 8)

Good luck to all in 2015!!
Thanks TSB gang!!
