Just so everybody is on the same page and I provide a disclosure about our relationship. . .
We bought two presses from Ryonet and entered in no contractual or unspoken agreement beyond that I will tell what I think! There was some talk very early on about potentially making us a demo shop, but that was ruled out pretty quickly as it did not make long term sense for either.
I have always been vocal about things I like and think will benefit others. After all, the board here is about sharing the knowledge that many other companies would consider secret. We (Blue Moon) have an open door policy and printers come and see what we are doing on regular bases. I take phone calls, assist and test products all the time without compensation. As of last year, I serve on the SGIA garment steering committee and have been officially recognized as somebody giving back to our community beyond what is to be expected.
So, when I share my thoughts with you, it is, first and foremost, because I believe it will benefit the reader. Many here will remember my vocal support of MHM when we started (which clearly did not turn out as expected). Any opportunity I have, I will promote FM over other RIPs as I believe it is better and a better value. Same happened with Silicone inks when we were involved with their development. It is a far superior product for poly garments to anything else on the market (as far as I can tell). Same with ROQ, both my printers and I are supper happy with the presses and know we made the right decision not because some kickbacks or promises of future deliveries, but because we love the presses and are excited to have them. Anybody wanting to come and see it first hand is welcome to stop by!
