AI CS3
« on: August 22, 2013, 11:49:07 AM »
Is there a way to get CS3 to save to art board and not image size?
What I am trying to accomplish is place my PS file in AI and have it save to my selected art board size and not the placed image size.
Thanks!

I'm not totally sure what you mean, but, if you set up a file with your register marks all in place and save it as a template, it will open up as an "Untitled" document, you can place your PS document into that, then save it as an output file or whatever you want to call it. For the next job, just open the template, rinse and repeat...

I hope this is what you meant...

I'm not an Illy person, and in fact, have done something similar by copying and pasting Photoshop channels to CorelDRAW pages.

I think that Alex's issue is re-sizing. I read his post as wanting a way to automatically re-size a Photoshop file in Illustrator to a pre-determined size on his Illy art board..

Then again, what do I know? I may be really off base here.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

Well, I usually set my PS files to size in PS, then simply place them onto my template, which already has register marks and color tags. I tend to not re-size a PS file if I don't have to... My template is set up for our MHM and older Gauntlet.
